Did you know that Southport is officially the Fourth of July capital of the State of North Carolina? A well-deserved honor. We joined in the days long red, white+ blue celebration since we arrived in 2003. You will find yourself wearing patriotic outfits, and decorating your home (and sometimes you vehicle) in full-out Americana.
This year, like most places in the US, our Independence Day celebrations: the street dances, fireworks, food vendors, concerts, pancake breakfasts, craft booths and the much-loved parade have been cancelled this year.
We all look forward to 2021 when we will resume all of the traditions and celebrations that have made Southport THE Fourth of July capital of North Carolina.
If you can come down next year…make sure that you are ready with all things red-white + blue.
